Joinery and Carpentry London
Bespoke joinery, panelling and fitted furniture, and first and second fix carpentry, for London homes and commercial buildings.
Joinery Made for the Room
At a glance: Alstruct carries out joinery and carpentry across London, on its own or as part of a renovation, extension or loft conversion: fitted wardrobes, alcove cupboards and shelving, wall panelling and shutters, internal doors, skirting, architrave and staircases, and first fix carpentry such as joists, studwork and door linings. On our Limehouse cottage project the bespoke joinery package alone was worth over £32,000.
Good joinery is what makes a renovated house feel finished. Each piece is built to the drawings for the job, whether those come from your architect or designer or are agreed with us on site, and made to fit the space it sits in rather than chosen from a catalogue.
Because we are a main contractor, the work around the joinery is covered too: the studwork and making good behind panelling, the electrics in a fitted unit, the plastering and the decoration afterwards. On a renovation or extension the joinery is planned into the programme from the start, so first fix goes in with the structure and second fix follows the plaster.
For commercial clients we carry out carpentry in buildings that stay open, such as wall protection and dado panelling in a health club reception, replacement door leaves and fire doors, and timber floor repairs, usually out of hours. Every job is backed by the same accreditations and insurance: CHAS Elite, Constructionline Gold, Federation of Master Builders membership and £10 million public liability insurance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take on joinery-only jobs?
Yes. We take on joinery and carpentry on its own, such as fitted wardrobes, shelving or panelling in one or two rooms, as well as joinery as part of a renovation, extension or loft conversion.
Can you build to an architect's or designer's drawings?
Yes. On our Limehouse cottage project the architect issued the joinery and fittings drawings as the job went on, and the site team built to them: hall panelling, panelling and shutters in the snug, and fitted wardrobes, shelving and cupboards.
How is joinery priced?
Each job is priced from the drawings or a site visit as a written, itemised quote. Painted joinery can be priced ready for decoration or with the decoration included.
Do you do carpentry in commercial buildings?
Yes. Our maintenance team carries out carpentry in buildings that stay open, mostly health clubs: MDF wall protection and dado panelling, replacement door leaves and fire doors, and timber floor repairs, usually out of hours.
